Giacosa Tresio. Altitude 300 meters above sea level

Soil:
Gray marl (clay and limestone) with layers of sand

Cultivation system:
Guyot

Harvest:
Manual harvested into small boxes towards mid October

Vinification:
Approx. 20 days alcoholic fermentation and maceration in steel tanks at controlled temperature. Then approx. 18 months storage in large oak barrels. Before release, the wine is stored in the bottle for at least 6 months

Annual production:
Approximately 600 bottles

Color: Elegant ruby red

Bouquet:
Balances ripe red fruit perfumed with sweetness of roses, raspberries and cardamom

Taste: 
Dried plum and fig with an undertone of spicy nutmeg. It has fine soft tannins and a pleasant sour finish

Serving temperature: 
16-18°C

Food pairings: 
Piedmontese cuisine is full of specialties with tasty meat and powerful sauces, often combined with white truffle that combine well with Barbaresco such as: Risotto al tartufo bianco, Manzo stufato alla Piemontese, Agnolotti al tartufo, Fricandó alla Piemontese, Fonduta con tartufi. Taglierini con fonduta e olio di tartufo as well as many other traditional Piedmontese dishes. And of course all forms of tasty cheese.

The wine has good storage potential and can bestore for more than 15 years
